Process Post #10 - Community Guidelines

Community guidelines are important when maintaining the stability of your website. They provide a safe environment within your community, protect users, foster inclusivity and diversity, promote civil discourse, and build trust and credibility with your community and yourself. These factors help shape the culture and behaviour of online communities and platforms. If I wanted to move forward with my website, I would have to think about my community guidelines. These are some of my ideas for my guidelines.

FAQs:

How can I reach you?

  • You can reach me through my social media or email. All found within my about me.

What is PUB 101, and what are posts found within it?

  • PUB 101 is an SFU publication course allowing students to develop their online self over the term. As part of my class enrollment, I documented my process of creating my website, and things related to the course can be found under the PUB 101 section.

How do your reviews work?

  • My reviews are based solely on my opinion of the boba spots I’ve tried. I give an overview of the place and discuss the drinks, toppings, pricing, and promotions. Ultimately, I give my honest thoughts and rank them on a tier list, with S being my favourite and D being places I would probably not try.

Community Standards:

Chewing Balls has a set of community guidelines outlining what behaviour is allowed. We enforce these community guidelines using human reviewers and apply them to everyone equally – regardless of subject or background, political viewpoint, position or affiliation. These policies aim to provide a safe community and freedom to share a range of experiences and perspectives.

Moderation Approach:

We reserve the right to take steps or implement measures that we hope will benefit the blog’s entire community.

We are ultimately responsible for everything that appears on this site, and all actions and decisions taken by moderators are final.

Do:

  • Be polite and kind
  • Allow for open conversation
  • Keep comments relevant to the subject
  • Don’t spread misinformation

Don’t:

  • Post personal inofrmation
  • Be inappropriate and rude
  • Spam or flood boards
  • Use derogatory language

These were some of my ideas, but they can always be refined.
