Rapid Boba Review

Boba Review Mascot Happy

Hi everyone!!! Thanks for reading my post thus far; I appreciate the support. This will likely be my final post, so for those who are invested in my boba adventures, please follow me on my Instagram for more recommendations and other food posts.

For my last post, I wanted to do a rapid review to get my last few thoughts in so the tier list would look nice and even. Giving you many amazing thoughts and feelings without all the background info. I hope you enjoy it!

Sorry it might be a little negative. These are just the bad bunch to fill in the tier list.

Boba Boys

Boba Boys…ooooo its ummm…not good. This is a personal opinion, so I don’t want to deter anyone from trying it, but from my experience, the times I went, the pearls were always rock hard. They have nice cups but that’s all I can say. At that point, you are better off driving somewhere else to get decent boba for the same price. They used to have a location in Richmond, but they closed… for good reason.

Final Rating: D Tier – Spend your money elsewhere…

Shiny Tea

Shiny Tea used to be my go-to, but not anymore. I think their Panada Milk teas are pretty good, and some other menu items are good, too, but their pearl lacks flavour. Drinks are decently priced, but again, there are better options. Other boba spots usually surround Shiny Teas; unless you are feeling a milk tea, go for it. Other than that, I don’t gravitate towards it.

Final Rating: B Tier – Good drinks but too much competition for what they do

Bengong

BENGONG, sorry for the negativity, but I really do not like this place. Bengong, I think, is just a scam. The first time I had it was at the Vancouver Public Library. I ordered a Creme Brulee Milk Tea, and it ended up costing me $10 for a small drink. It would be acceptable if it was good, but it was so mid, and I was really sad afterwards. Another time I was up at campus, I wanted something refreshing, and the Passionfruit Soda thing sounded interesting; it was $8 for Sparkling water with passionfruit syrup from Costco. I think my expectations were too high, but that is a ridiculous price for something I can make for $2. Just don’t go here; it’s not worth it (but again, try if you want, no judgment).

Final Rating: D Tier – Bengong and I have beef, robbed me in broad daylight fr

Xing Fu Tang

Xing Fu Tang, honestly, their drinks aren’t terrible. They have an interesting concept of pan-frying the pearls to give them a stronger taste. But I think their drinks are just okay. For what they offer and the portion you get, it can get a bit pricey, but again, it’s not terrible tasting. I would not go out of my way to get it. But if I’m in the mood and don’t want T&T boba, I go here. Otherwise, I would generally skip. But it’s alright, and it’s a decent study spot.

Final Ranking: C Tier – Okay for what it does, but I will not go here to fix my boba craving
